FAQ Forced Theme Migration
Hey gang. Although few come by this FAQ site any more, it still holds a special place for me, even if I don’t update it as I should. 😅 Anyway, YEARS ago, Don White graciously volunteered to create a Tenchi-related WordPress theme for me. Naturally, I accepted and he did an amazing job.
Fast forward to today. His custom theme sources an existing theme, then modifies it. That is pretty common practice so that when the source theme gets updated for whatever reasons, the customization usually remains untouched as the customization overrides aspect of the parent. That aside, the parent theme for the FAQ hasn’t been updated in YEARS. Further, Don no longer does this kind of work, even for money. This hasn’t been a problem, until now.
The issue is that I need to make certain updates to software that runs the site. That includes my all but forgotten Rambling blog and my Anime and Manga blog. Interestingly enough, I did get the Rambling blog site updated to the latest and greatest as its theme can handle the upgrades. Unfortunately, the FAQ cannot. Thus I need to migrate.
I haven’t been given a deadline to get things updated, but I would like to do so sooner rather than later. Regardless, I am going to test some different themes. So if you happen to drop by and see the theme suddenly change, you’ll know why. 😅
Update: I opted for something simple now. Maybe in future, I can get someone to create a custom theme for me again.
